Ringing to mark the Ypres Memorial Bells being at The Great Dorset Steam Fair. 24 – 28 August 2017.
The fine tower at St George’s Memorial Church in Ypres, Belgium was originally intended to house a peal of English change ringing bells, although this was never realised. Permission has now been granted to fulfill this intention by installing a new peal of eight bells, which have now been cast by Taylors.
Between Friday 25 August and Monday 28 August, en route to Belgium, these bells were on display at The Great Dorset Steam Fair on the Thornycroft and Dennis Lorries that will deliver them to Ypres.
