Firsts Week Results

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Firsts Week; there were over 100 achievements recorded on the Guild website. Some ringers achieved more than one first and some of the achievements posted included more than one ringer recording a first. A search through revealed at least 120 ringers recording a first. Well done to everyone and a big thank you to all those ringers who participated, arranged and supported these achievements. What a variety there was too, from one of our Young Ringers achieving a first ring in continental Europe and a first QP on the treble to 8 to some of the more experienced ringers ringing a plain course of Vegetarian Sausage Doubles!

Guild Festival and Annual General Meeting 2024

The Guild Festival of Ringing and Annual General Meeting is taking place at Trowbridge on Saturday, 11th May and we’d like to encourage as many members as possible to join us there.

From a business point of view there is an important vote about whether or not the Guild will adopt the Membership system that has been trialled in West Dorset and Marlborough branches for the past year and it’s always better the more people participate in such decisions, but equally importantly it can be a fun ringing day out.

There is a great opportunity to ring at several towers on the way to the AGM: Warminster, Corsley, Westbury from the South; Melksham, Seend and Hilperton from the East, both routes, of course, finishing with an opportunity to ring at at Trowbridge which makes for a fun day out for ringers. And, following the meeting and a service the day will close with a traditional ringers’ tea!

Full details and timings on the website.
