On a very warm Wednesday 31st July, the Beaminster ringers and friends ventured toward the Dorchester Branch for our annual outing – this year the “Four St Marys Safari”.
Ringing started at the lovely 6 of Cerne Abbas, plenty of Plain Bob, Reverse Canterbury and a course of Cambridge, then down the Piddle Valley to Piddlehinton with more Plain Bob, Call Changes and St Clements.
Lunch next at Saxon Arms, Stratton (an excellent choice, very welcoming to a large group!) and ringing on the 5 there which was an experience for many with no tenor to lead off when ringing doubles.
Finally back to the West Dorset Branch for a warm welcome to Burton Bradstock, which was hot. Plain Bob, Grandsire, an attempt at London and finished with Cambridge and a lovely lower.
A fantastic day had by all – thanks to Sally and Sue for organising!
