Despite not getting a QP on Saturday afternoon. St. Mary’s fundraising weekend has been a great success.
With tea and great cakes available both Saturday and Sunday afternoon, an open tower, ringing and a concert on Saturday, and a children’s treasure hunt, and dog show on Sunday, Bob Hardwick TC said today that they are anticipating making more than £2,000 over this weekend.
“Thankfully the weather stayed fine until we were clearing up, thank you to everyone who has put so much effort into this weekend for all their support.
Guess the weight of the clappers (shown) is open till the peal that will take place on Wednesday afternoon. So if you want to have a go come along. “
“We will be running Tower visits once a month during the summer, and other events are in the pipeline. We are also looking for any relatives of people who donated to the bell restoration in 1924 to collect their stories, and look forward to updating you all on our progress”
