The last Branch AGM’s of the season took place on Saturday 24th January, and it has been a pleasure to be able to join some of them and hear all the activity and events that have gone on in the last year. There is a plenty going on, lots of new ideas and activities being planned, so 2026 is looking like a busy year. Thank you to everyone who is giving their time and energy to their branch and fellow ringers; and to those new to office, thank you for stepping up and supporting the development of ringing in your area, your contributions are very much appreciated.
Over two thirds of members have already updated their MemberMojo registrations and paid their subs, which is pretty impressive for the third week of January. The Annual Report information on Tower members will be taken from Member Mojo for the first time this year. There is a field for you to tick if you wish your name to appear in the report, so if you do want your name in the report please refresh your MemberMojo record as the default position is not to publish. Similarly, tower information will be taken from the Guild Website, so make sure that’s up to date too!
This is also the time of year where we look forward to receiving nominations for Ringer of the Year, to be presented at the Guild Festival. The closing date is 28th February, so get your nominations into your Branch Committee as soon as possible; each branch can put forward one adult nominee and as many young ringers as they wish. There’s a lot of emerging talent, and people doing great stuff in addition to their own personal ringing, and it is a joy to be able to recognise them and celebrate their achievements.
As always the Guild Website is packed with interesting news and resources. My current favourites are the pages on Raising and Lowering in Peal which are very colourful and perfect for my visual learning style!
I know it’s a little late, but as I have not written a Master’s Message yet this year, in closing I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year.
Vicki
