As you probably know, following an overwhelmingly positive vote at the recent AGM, our new Membership System, Membermojo, was formally adopted.
All that’s left to do is for all members to register on the system.
The vast majority (including everybody reading this website) will be able to register themselves and that’s what we are now asking you to do using the link below. It’s simple and straightforward and will only take a couple of minutes (if that).
Firstly, though, let me offer a little reassurance regarding those of our members who you may be concerned about because they are unfamiliar with or don’t use the internet. As well as the ability to register and pay subscriptions online, we will also have a paper-based system for anyone who needs a not-online alternative. These forms can be completed and returned to Branch Officers who will add the name, details of branch, tower etc and any consents to the system. They can continue to pay their subs exactly as they have previously done (cash, PCC cheque, etc). Please be assured that nobody will be excluded from membership because of this system.
In my other role as Treasurer for the West Dorset Branch, I’m very pleased that this innovation is happening because it will make everyone’s lives easier regarding the collection and reporting of subs (no more form Ds !), ensure that we are compliant with data protection laws and also make sure that there are no errors in the Guild report!
I’ve been closely involved in the trial and have found the whole process to be simple and easy to administer and the new ability to pay subs online has been widely welcomed.
All I’d ask you to do at the moment is to visit the following link and click the “Join us/Renew” button, then select your membership type (Non-Pilot Branches & Free because you’ve already paid), your branch, tower and any tower/branch office you hold. Also, please subscribe to any email lists you would like to hear from.
I’d appreciate it if you would do this as soon as possible (it’s simple and quick) so that you have an opportunity to see how the system works and you can help spread the word about how easy it is!
Obviously, if you are in the Pilot branches – Marlborough & West Dorset – and have already registered you don’t have to do anything because your registration rolls over each year.
Feel free to contact me, Tim Phillips or your branch administrator if you have questions or difficulties.
Towards the end of the year we’ll you to explain how we’ll pay our Guild Subscriptions in 2025, but for the moment I’d just like to reassure you that all present payment methods will continue to be available but with the addition of card payment for both individual and group payments. As mentioned above, people without internet access will continue to pay their subs as previously.
Thank you for your support.
