LATEST INFORMATION

Please note the latest changes to procedure.

The Guild Novice Striking Competition will be held from 2pm on Saturday 12th July at Motcombe, Dorset.

Participants and supporters are asked to park at Motcombe Memorial Hall, register in the Clock Hall, Motcombe Memorial Hall, The Street, Motcombe, SP7 9PE and remain there until asked to make the short walk to the church.

The wooden clad Clock Hall is situated to the left of the Main Hall building, the church being less than a three-minute walk from the Hall, via a cut-through known as Church Walk.

Please note there is no parking at, or outside the church and there will be no access to the church, whilst competition pieces are being rung.

Light refreshments will be served at the Clock Hall throughout the afternoon, followed by a Bring and Share Bellringers Tea in the Hall.

It would be very much appreciated, if each team could please bring a plate or two of something to share.

Thank you for your assistance in helping to make this a successful event.

I look forward to seeing you there.

This year´s Novice Striking Competition will take place during the afternoon of Saturday 12th July at Motcombe where the delightful 7cwt six are rung from the first floor.

The emphasis on the event is that it should be sociable and enjoyable with the opportunity to improve striking and for us all to encourage our Novice ringers. Bands entering are free to choose the ringing of rounds or call changes and those entering will not have previously rung a quarter peal on a treble or an inside bell.

Remember that Novices do not have to consider themselves as a ´good ringer´ to participate and Tower Captains as well as Training Officers and Branch Committee members are asked to encourage involvement.

For the purpose of this competition a ‘novice ringer’ is a ringer who has not rung a quarter peal on the treble or an inside bell.

There’s a printable notice below for display in your tower if required which contains full details and rules.

Novices – we look forward to receiving your entry!
