The Shipton Gorge Band pulled it off when they were delighted to welcome both village and ringing friends to their fundraising ‘Pies for Peals’ dinner held in the village hall. A choice of delicious pies with accompanying vegetables, followed by home made desserts were served to a beautifully decorated packed hall which buzzed with a happy community feel.
The local Town Crier got things started and a bell themed quiz and ‘Guess the Ringer’ baby pictures kept everyone entertained. The Grand Raffle with some wonderful prizes was well supported and the evening raised a magnificent £1525 towards essential bell maintenance work.
The evening was about more than just fundraising, it was a throughly enjoyable community get together. Ringers certainly know how to entertain in more ways than one!!
