Raising and lowering in peal is one of those magical arts which brings admiration from all quarters.
It requires skill and concentration but the joy of being involved in a good raise or lower far outweighs any effort involved in achieving it.
Vicki recently discovered this brilliant poster in a tower in Oxfordshire which had been designed by Geoff Pullin, a ringer and teacher in the midlands to help his ringers to understand and develop their skills.
By studying the skills and principles outlined and practising at every opportunity you will master the subtleties of raising in peal which, I’m sure, will bring great pleasure and satisfaction.
Being able to raise in peal really is something to be proud of – with practice all ringers can achieve it.
