Janet Ranger-Dennis, Chair of Dorchester Branch, has been a volunteer with Dorset Police for more than ten years, since the inception of the Victims Bureau in 2013.
“I am passionate about supporting victims of crime, providing them with regular updates about the investigation into the crime.”
She is also a Role Player for trainee officers, and provide Event Support as well as being involved in training for Marauding Terrorist Attacks and similar. She continues to receive accolades for her work and has recently won four awards:-
- Volunteer of the Year 2023/4
- Team of the Year 2023/4
- Volunteer of the Year 2023/4 for the South West Region (Avon & Somerset, Devon & Cornwall, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Dorset)
- Recognition Award from the High Sheriff for ‘great and valuable services to the community’.
The “icing on the cake” was an invitation to attend a Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 21st May 2024 accompanied by my husband, Tim.
“I felt very privileged to see Prince William, Zara & Mike Tindall, and Peter Phillips.”
Also in attendance to support their cousin were Princess’ Beatrice & Eugenie, and the Duke & Duchess of Gloucester.
“Despite the rain ALL day it was a memorable and enjoyable occasion for us both.”
