Salisbury Branch AGM was held on Saturday, 25th January at Broadchalke.
It was a bright, crisp January morning as we gathered for ringing in the Tower of All Saints, Broadchalke. This started with Rounds and Call Changes progressing to Plain Hunt and various methods, both doubles and triples, culminating in a service touch. Ringing Master, Rhoda Willson organised the ringing giving everybody plenty of opportunity to ring to their strengths.
A service followed with taken by Rev. Alison Waterhouse, whom, we learned, is a bell ringer. The organist was Ian Davidson.
We then moved across the road to the Village Hall for a welcome hot drink before the meeting began.
Chairman, Liz Wrighton, welcomed members of the Branch and Guild Secretary, Kathryn Tyson and proceeded with the business of the meeting. Reports were given by various officers indicating that it had been a successful year for the Branch with several initiatives, such as the Learn to Ring Training courses, bearing fruit. The Programme outlined for 2025 hopes to build upon this.
With the business concluded, nearly forty members sat down to a two course hot lunch of lasagne or beef bourginion followed by apricot torte or rhubarb and custard pudding.
The event concluded with a raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to the LEBRF.
My thanks to all who contributed to the smooth running of the event and for making our first morning AGM a success.
Liz Wrighton
