Our annual Skittles Competition took place on Saturday, 15th November at Lake Estate Club.
Seven teams from towers across the Branch competed for the trophy. Two rounds of skittles took place with a sumptuous ‘bring and share’ supper in between the rounds. The centrepiece of the supper was a magnificent ‘sandwich’ comprising several layers of fillings and decorated with the Guild Logo cut from cucumber skin. This was made by Justin.
The winning team were from the Chalke Valley churches, having played well throughout the evening. Ted accepted the trophy on behalf of the team. There were several excellent individual scores from members of each team but Ian from the Winterbourne Earls team was the top scorer across the two rounds.
A raffle was held, with the proceeds being donated to LEBRF.
It was a very pleasant evening, giving the opportunity to meet and chat with our friends from across the Branch in relaxed surroundings.
Thanks to the Lake Estate Club and the volunteers who ran the bar for us and everyone who brought food, raffle prizes and took part.
