Saturday April 20th saw the new band of Semley Ringers hosting their first Mere Branch Members Meeting. There was a record attendance of over forty to encourage and support this new band. The Mere Branch Officers and Committee thank our Guild President and all ringers who attended and supported this event.
Ringing took place throughout a one and a half hour period, prior to a service led by Anthony Thomas, with organist Jane Beaumont, during which a poem written by Jane Williams, entitled “The Bellringers” was read.
After a sumptuous tea provide by Liz Oatts and her helpers, the afternoon concluded with an informative but brief Business Meeting, where two new Membership Certificates were presented and four LtR Level 1 Certificates were awarded, together with a First Quarter Certificate. Congratulations were also offered to the many “Firsts” that had been achieved, within the Mere Branch.
We look forward to seeing the band at Semley continuing to grow in numbers and progress in their ringing journey.
