West Dorset topped off another busy year of practices with what is affectionately known as the ‘Mince Pie’ practice. Held at the Bradpole ringing center, the local band and volunteers did a grand job keeping everyone well supplied with tea, coffee, lots of mince pies and various other delicious cakes.
With a wide range of experience to cater for, David Barrance, WD Ringing Master, ensured everyone had plenty of ringing opportunities; rounds and call changes, Plain Hunt Triples, Grandsire Triples, Plain Bob Major and Cambridge Surprise Major were all excellently navigated.
Around 30 branch members mingled, munched and generally had lots of fun socialising and catching up in between their ringing. In addition to the monthly Saturday afternoon practices, the branch hold many other more focussed practices almost every week all of which are very friendly, relaxed and fun, check the calendar for more information.
