Our first practice of 2026 was held on 17th January. Six young ringers (and a good number of helpers, including the Guild Master) met up at St Martin’s church in Salisbury and rang the eight bells to rounds, call changes, plain hunt on seven and Plain Bob Triples. After enjoying some refreshments (Alastair had made some delicious brownies), we travelled the short distance to Stratford sub Castle, a light ring of six. Here, we were pleased to be joined by the Guild President and a seventh young ringer, Arthur, who is learning to ring there. We put the hour to good use, ringing call changes, plain hunt, Plain Bob Doubles and Grandsire Doubles – and managed not to leave Bertie the mascot behind this time!
Our next practice will be on Saturday 28th February at Toller Porcorum and Maiden Newton. Full details will be on the guild calendar soon.
