Church bellringing in the Salisbury Diocese

Marborough Social catch-up

The monthly social catch up prior to the Branch simulator practice moved to a new location for January as we had outgrown Costa!  It was lovely to sit and chat on the comfy sofas in the church hall next to the church.  Many thanks to Teresa for organising the refreshments and the pineapple cake was delicious.

The simulator practice was well attended again and it was lovely to have a new ringer from West Overton join us for the first time.  We always ring a good mix, including rounds and call changes, plain hunt, Plain Bob, Grandsire and Stedman along with any other requests.  Everyone had a go at treble bobbing on 6 this month which was a surprise to many who hadn’t had a go before!

There’s always the opportunity to have a go at calling a touch of something and our first touch of Grandsire Triples was entertaining to say the least!

We meet every month (excluding December) with the social cuppa and cake from 3-4pm in St Mary’s Church Hall (the upper room), Marlborough followed by the simulator practice at St Mary’s from 4-6pm.  Everyone is most welcome to join us.
