On 29th November the Mere branch held their last Members Meeting of the year, at St Mary’s Stalbridge. Around 35 members crammed into the meeting room and enjoyed a traditional bellringers tea excellently provided by the Stalbridge band. After the routine meeting business we came to the election of new members and the presentation of certificates.
Thirteen ringing members were elected. Ten were learners from Buckhorn Weston, Lydlinch and Motcombe. Three were experienced ringers having moved to the area.
Four members received their ART level one Learning the Ropes certificates.
Andrew Oatts received his first QP certificate having rung the tenor to a QP at Christine Speake’s Thanksgiving service in October.
All six members of the newly taught Lydlinch band were present for a photo opportunity.
