New Minor, Triples and Major practices planned

In response to members’ feedback some of our branch practices in 2026 will be focussed on triples and major methods and others on plain minor.

We always welcome feedback and ideas from members and following the AGM at Beaminster and David Barrance’s recent survey it is clear there is significant demand for practices which cater for different levels of experience. The dates and details of these practices are below and will be posted on the SDGR calendar.  The first of these will be on 21st March. Open practices will accommodate all stages of ringing development and will include call changes and doubles as well as more advanced methods.

We shall also continue to hold open branch practices for all, the entry qualification being able to ring rounds and call changes, and the next of these will be the Saturday 21st February 2.30 – 4pm hosted by Maiden Newton.

We will be continuing our popular Thursday morning practices at Bradpole with each week cycling through call changes, doubles and plain and surprise minor (see the calendar for which is which).

Some of the feedback included varying the times of practices so you’ll see that some are now scheduled for afternoons as well as evenings.

Branch practices fall on the 3rd Saturday of the month – do remember to keep it clear!
