We raised over £1,400 for the LEBRF from last weekend’s highly successful Ringing Open Day in the Marlborough and Calne Branches with ringing in twelve towers around the area. Many of the towers chosen have been previous recipients of grants including the superb recently rehung and augmented Calne, and Ramsbury which had been a previous major beneficiary of the LEBRF.
Ringers from across the country were warmly welcomed at each and every tower and there was a great atmosphere and some lovely ringing. We were blessed by the good weather which added to the pleasure of the day when travelling through such beautiful countryside.
The LEBRF Trustees would like to thank everyone who supported the day and in particular those who organised and manned their towers, and supplied welcome refreshment with the traditional tea and cake.
The LEBRF is the Guild’s bell restoration fund and provides grants to towers for improvement work on their bells. Donations are always gratefully received.
