On Friday 7th June, Katie Smith, of Silton Tower, was presented with her First Quarter Peal Certificate. The presentation took place during the Branch All Ringing Together Practice, which was held at Compton Abbas.
The presentation was made by Judith Williamson Guild VP and Branch Training Officer, who congratulated Katie on ringing the Tenor to a Quarter Peal of 1260 Plain Bob Doubles. The Quarter was rung at Motcombe in April to celebrate the 60th birthday of Graham Peck, Tower Captain at Motcombe. The ringers were 1. Richard Poole. 2. Graham Peck. 3. Judith Williamson (Conductor) 4. Hilary Poole. 5. Nick Dallison. 6. Katie Smith.

At a recent Sturminster Newton Tower Practice Lavinia Carey was presented with her ART LtR Level 1 Certificate.
Lavinia had achieved completion of all the Level 1 elements earlier this year, having been taught by ART member and Tower Captain Nick Dallison. The presentation was made by Judith Williamson Guild V P and Mere Branch Training Officer, who extended warmest congratulations to Lavinia, on behalf of the Mere Branch Officers and Members.
