A Record Result Achieved at Mere Branch LEBRF Fundraiser

The magnificent total of £430 was raised for the LEBRF, at the Ringing Demonstration and fundraising event held on Bank Holiday Monday, at Stourton, in the Mere Branch.

In addition to Ringing Demonstrations there were regular opportunities for members of the public, of all ages, to have an opportunity to chime a bell. For others there were numerous displays and videos to watch, together with a model of a working bell, ably demonstrated by Mike Durkee. Branch members were on hand to distribute CCCBR leaflets together with our own local branch insert and to discuss the art of bell ringing with the public.

Our wonderful helpers were kept busy serving tea and homemade cake and thanks to Training Officer Judith, a Coronation Day Anniversary Cake raised £60.

Our sincere thanks go to Nick Dallison for overseeing the ringing and chiming, to the ladies who organised and served the teas and to all Branch members who supported this event, supplied cakes and helped in so many various ways. Thanks also go to Val Rowe (Tower Correspondent) and to the Rector and PCC at St Peters, for their cooperation and assistance.

Len Roberts – Branch Chairman.
