East Dorset Branch Bonanza and Striking Competitions 2026

It was fantastic to have so many bands represented at the East Dorset Branch Striking competitions on Saturday 30th May 2026.

The main competition was open to bands ringing methods or called changes and a novice competition was also held, with the test piece comprising 5 minutes of rounds.

In total there were 7 teams entered for the method/called change competition and two bands for the novice competition. Two of these bands were scratch bands formed on the day, enabling those who hadn’t the opportunity to ring in a band to take part.

The competitions were judged by Chris Caryer and Liz Thornton who joined us from the Salisbury Branch and the event was hosted at Lytchett Minster where the local band put on a fantastic spread of cakes and refreshments on what turned out to be a hot and sunny day.

Overall Wimborne Minster took home the 6-bell trophy and Lytchett Minster’s novice band won the novice shield.
