Jeremy started ringing at the age of 14 at Milton Lilbourne (where his grandfather used to be the vicar) and was taught by Chris Wardell. He rang at Pewsey with Pat Cotton and at Milton for several years until moving to Trowbridge, where family life with three children kept him very busy with little time for ringing.

After moving to Great Cheverell in 2006 Jeremy returned to ringing and, with the help of a good band and Derrick Bailey’s excellent tuition, he managed to progress his ringing ability.

After Derrick stood down as Tower Captain in 2020, Jeremy willingly took on the role. With help from other local ringers he has managed to restore the Tuesday practice night, post covid, and a great practice session for all abilities is now enjoyed. Jeremy has taught himself how to call touches of various methods and is passing on these skills to others. A number of new branch members from other towers have recently joined his practices as they recognise the ability to progress with his assistance.

Since Jeremy attended the ART M1 course in April 2022, he has recruited several new and returning ringers from the village and now has three new ringers, one who is ringing for services and two who are progressing very well. He also has two more waiting to continue their training, his wife and Son!

Jeremy has really enjoyed getting involved with branch training sessions, both as an attendee and as a helper. He practises regularly with the local “Monday Group” of experienced ringers, ringing doubles variations and minor methods and is now regularly ringing quarter peals, as well as also supporting other local practices.
