Canford Magna Hosts a Taster Session

Sally Bedborough was a participant on one of the Plain Hunt/Bob Doubles courses run in the East Dorset Branch. Having had not such a good experience elsewhere she was badly in need of encouragement and thoroughly enjoyed the 8 weeks
East Dorset Branch Bonanza and Striking Competitions 2026
It was fantastic to have so many bands represented at the East Dorset Branch Striking competitions on Saturday 30th May 2026. The main competition was open to bands ringing methods or called changes and a novice competition was also held,

About us
The East Dorset Branch, originally called the ‘Wimborne Branch’, is amongst the largest in the Guild, covering an area of 300 square miles and containing more than 40 towers. We have a wide variety of towers given the huge area, including quaint village towers and larger town churches, including three former monasteries. We are fortunate to have in our branch the Purbeck Hills, Jurassic Coast, Sandbanks Peninsula and Cranborne Chase AONB, all of which provide stunning settings for our towers. We even have a tower that is only accessible by boat! Wherever you’re ringing, you’re sure of a warm welcome.
