Easy Steps to Bob Doubles

Learning the plain course of Plain Bob Doubles can be difficult, especially when certain dodges or long 5ths need extra practice. Bayles is a useful exercise because it lets learners repeat a specific piece of work several times, helping them focus on when to meet the treble, adjust speed, and improve rhythm and striking.

How to use Bayles to help your learner

Begin by ringing Plain Bob Doubles, then call the change to Bayles at the lead end when the learner has completed the dodge or place to be repeated.  After enough repetitions, switch back to Plain Bob Doubles to complete the course or call it round.

Here is a download from ART with full information on how to implement it and below that my notes showing the effect of switching to Bayles after 1, 2, or 3 leads of Plain Bob Doubles.
