At our recent Members Meeting held at Zeals, St Martin, on July 25th two learners were elected members of the Guild: Alan Carter of Maiden Bradley and Carrie-Anne Rothwell of Zeals. Congratulations to them both on being elected members of the Guild, we hope to see them soon at some branch events. Nick presented Alan with his certificate. In her absence, it was agreed Revd. Graham Southgate would present Carrie-Anne with her certificate one Sunday morning at the start of the service.
Three certificates were recently awarded to members having passed level one or level two of the Association of Ringing Teacher’s ‘Learning the Ropes’ scheme. At Zeals, Lavinia Carey of Sturminster Newton was presented with her level two certificate. A week later at our Ringer’s & Learner’s Social at Shaftesbury, St James, Sarah Ulmer of Lydlinch was presented with her level one certificate, and Peter Fry of Sturminster Newton was presented with his level two certificate. Congratulations to all three on their achievements and their continued desire to learn.
Paul Lear, of Sturminster Newton and Henstridge, rang his first and second quarter peals on June 11th at Henstridge and Stalbridge. Both were covering to Grandsire Doubles. Paul will be presented with his certificate at an upcoming Sturminster Newton practice.
