Quiz Evening at Wylye

On Saturday, 16th March we held our annual Quiz Evening in Wylye. It was a small but perfectly formed gathering! The evening started with ringing in St Mary’s Church followed by a short Branch Meeting in the Village Hall.

An impressive Ringer’s ‘Bring and Share’ supper was enjoyed whilst two rounds of the quiz were pondered over. There were 20 ‘Dingbats’ to solve and a map of the UK Shipping Areas with 10 areas blanked out to be completed.

Further rounds covering General Knowledge, Sport, Food & Drink and Geography & History followed after supper.

The final scores were very close with 11 points separating all the teams – it really depended on who listened to the Radio 4 Shipping Forecast! The winners were a combined team from Amesbury and Wylye.

The evening ended with the raffle being drawn. The proceeds will be donated to LEBRF.

Many people were involved in making the evening a success – thank you all.

(Next time we must ensure that we are not competing with Verdi’s Requiem in the Cathedral or England playing their final Six Nations match!)
