West Dorset AGM

Join us in Powerstock

You may have noticed on the Guild calendar that we have changed the venue for our AGM to Powerstock to celebrate the return, and completion of the work on Powerstock’s bells along with our AGM on 16th November at Powerstock.

The bells left Powerstock more than seven months ago, and returned on 15th October ready to be rehung.

During 2023 Powerstock ringers, with the support of the PCC and the community raised over £50,000 (which included a grant of £10,600 from the Guild’s Bell Restoration Fund – LEBRF) to complete an extensive amount of work on their bells and frame, and we would like to celebrate this with them and everyone who contributed in any way.

The afternoon will commence at 2.00pm with a service rededicating the bells, which will be open to the community.

Following that we will hold our branch practice for November whilst refreshments are served in the church. We hope that many people will stay and watch the practice and see first hand what their fundraising has achieved. Ringers from St. Mary’s Bridport will also be holding a raffle during this time.

At approximately 4.00pm West Dorset Ringers will head over to the village hall for a traditional ringers tea, followed by our AGM.

The afternoon will finish with a first quarter peal rung on the bells.
