Nine young ringers met up for a practice in the Salisbury branch, including Verity and Sibbie from Wimborne who came along for the first time and who managed really well on unfamiliar bells. Ringing at Compton Chamberlayne involved trying to dodge dozens of flying ladybirds who had been happily dozing on the ceiling until we arrived; some people escaped to the sunny churchyard in between touches. We enjoyed refreshments at Fovant before ringing there; several people had made cakes and cookies, so we were spoilt for choice.
Ringing during the afternoon comprised rounds, call changes, plain hunt on five, Grandsire Doubles, Stedman Doubles and Cambridge Surprise Minor. We also had a couple of run-throughs of the call changes for the RWNYC in July, focusing on accurate leading.
Many thanks to Vicki Rowse for arranging the towers for us.
