Christmas Peal at Wimborne Minster

We have an annual allocation of four peals at the Minster – two for visiting bands and two rung by the local band. In recent years the two local band peals have been rung at Easter and Christmas.

Bristol Maximus has become a regular method at Tuesday practice nights since the band has reconvened following Covid, and occasionally also rung on Sunday mornings. We’ve also successfully scored six quarter peals in the method for Evensong ringing during 2023, so it was a natural choice of method for the Christmas peal. Family and other commitments meant that not everyone was available, but nonetheless we were able to select a band from those who regularly attend Sunday evening ringing and practice nights. It provided an opportunity for Max Knight to score his first peal in the method.
